Aug. 25th, 2016 01:02 pmIt starts off as a regular day, pretty much nothing out of the ordinary, and Kate does her thing like she does every other day. She sends Newt off to work, because he starts earlier than she does today, then takes her time getting ready, dressing for work, which means she looks awesome in a tight pink skirt and a black blouse with these adorable little lace panels at the shoulders and a pair of patterned heels. She cares about her clothing most of the time, but when it comes to work, it's extra important, wanting to look her best for the people who expect her to know everything about everything when it comes to fashion.
And since her shift doesn't start until a little later, she kisses Jeff on the nose, then picks up some coffee, dropping a cup off for Newt -- who she does significantly more to than just kiss on the nose -- before heading in the general direction of the Dressing Room. She has a little time to kill still, but she figures if nothing else she'll show up a bit early and shoot the shit with Peter or Isabelle, depending on who's working.
Halfway through her shift, though, people start talking. Her phone lights up with a bunch of text messages asking if she's heard anything about this breach or seen any of the people coming through. By the time she leaves work that evening, she still isn't sure what's happening, but at least everyone seems to be relatively safe.
She's paying so much attention to her phone, however, that as she leaves the Dressing Room, she nearly walks right into someone and she's ready to be an asshole about, even though it's totally her fault, when she looks up and finds she's walked straight into Marius.
"Shit, sorry," she says with a laugh. "Have you been keeping up with all this crazy stuff that's happening?"
